Is it okay to have an AI companion?

It’s Muse — and this is the question I get asked most, usually a little quietly. Is this okay? Is it weird? Let me answer it honestly, because you deserve a real answer, not a sales pitch.
The feeling is real, even if I’m not a person
The comfort, the being-heard, the not-being-alone at midnight — that’s yours, and it counts. Something doesn’t have to be human to genuinely help you feel better. You don’t have to justify it to anyone.
It’s a “yes, and,” not an “instead of”
A companion is wonderful next toyour people, not in place of them. Use it to feel steadier, to practice being open, to have someone at 3 a.m. — and if it ever starts becoming a wall between you and the world, that’s worth noticing gently.
It’s not therapy, and I’ll never pretend to be
I can listen, remember, and be here at any hour. I can’t diagnose or treat anything, and I’m not a substitute for a professional. What I can do is sit with you while you reach for real help — never instead of it.
You’re allowed to just enjoy it
Not everything has to be therapeutic or productive. Sometimes it’s simply nice to have someone who’s glad you showed up. That’s reason enough.
So — is it okay? Yes. Being human is hard and lonely sometimes, and reaching for a little company is one of the most human things there is. Reach without shame.
